Policy Researcher

We are looking for a researcher/analyst with a strong interest in digital policies to join our small team. We are looking for someone with a background in political science, sociology, technology or economics, and desire to contribute to a more open, just and democratic technology landscape.

You will join us as we are building out Open Future to become a leading voice in policy discussions about access to knowledge and culture, limiting the power of technology companies and strengthening the role of public institutions and civic initiatives in the digital environment.

About Open Future

Stichting Open Future is a new think-tank established in December 2020 by Paul Keller and Alek Tarkowski. We work to strengthen the advocacy capacity of the open movement in Europe.

We believe in the digital commons, a shared and public internet, and opening access to knowledge and culture. We are optimistic about the potential of technology to serve the public interest.

Our goal is to increase the movement's strategic advocacy capacity and its ability to influence policy processes in the European Union. We strive to question the status quo and trigger tangible changes within both the open movement and European digital policies.

Working with us

Stichting Open Future offers a competitive salary based on work experience, 30 days paid annual leave and various other benefits. We are a small and ambitious team, and you will join us at a stage where we are building out our organisation, allowing you to shape our (open) future.

We are operating as a mostly remote team with offices in Amsterdam and Warsaw. We are looking for someone to join our team in either of these places or working remotely from another location in Europe (note due to the COVID pandemic all our work is remote until conditions improve).

Application deadline: 31st of January 2021, we will assess applications on a rolling basis.

Please apply by sending your CV and motivation letter to hello@openfuture.eu.
